Ethiopia Medical Mission – First Four Days

Our team of volunteers and staff are in Gondar, Ethiopia, ministering to the Beta Israel Jewish population through free medical, dental, and eye clinics, prayer ministry, and the Gospel message of Yeshua (Jesus).

As Internet access is limited there and communication can be quite difficult at times, we were thrilled to get this report from the field via phone recently from our Director of Global Outreach, Jonathan Gannon.

Let’s praise God together for how He is working mightily through the hands and feet of those who have traveled on this short-term Jewish Voice medical mission trip!

Well we are back from Ethiopia. It was a blessing to return for the third time. Sometimes we wonder if the people remember us since we see thousands each time. I received my answer to this question on the second day. I am privledged to work in the triage tent, which simply means that I send people to the right clinic. On tuesday a beautiful young women came into the triage tent with an baby which looked to be about a year old. When she saw me she rushed over and was laughing and proudly displaying her baby. My translator relayed to me that this mom wondered if I remembered that she was pregnant last year when she came to the clinic and that this was her baby. She wanted me to get to hold him. What an experience and an answer to my question if the team is remembered by the people. Of course I held and cuddled the beautiful baby and his beautiful mom! It makes it all worthwhile!
