DATELINE: Montevideo, Uruguay

It’s been such an amazing three weeks here in Montevideo, Uruguay. The Lord has opened so many doors.

Jonathan Bernis and the other members of our Jewish Voice office team arrived last night. Tonight we are in the hotel preparing for the group’s arrival tomorrow.

The last few weeks have been filled with so many logistical duties that to try and recount them all is very difficult. There are so many things that have to come together for a Hear O’ Israel! Festival of Jewish Music and Dance outreach: books, fliers, and posters to print; church networking and recruitment; production details; planning to establish a new Messianic congregation; and so much more. Our small Jewish Voice advance team of three (myself included) have worked tirelessly but with great excitement… all for what happens next week!

From Wednesday, August 18, 2010 through Saturday, August 20, 2010, the thousands of people that come to the Festival will be dazzled with world-class Jewish music and dance.

I remember last year in Cordoba, Argentina, when the lights dimmed on the first night and the concert started. I was blown away to be part of something so amazing. It was incredible to watch the people surrounding the sound booth where I was stationed laugh, cheer, and cry during the performance.

The music of Paul Wilbur and Maurice Sklar and the breathtaking routines of the dancers make the Festival comparable to any world-class production. With the help of modern production aids (smoke machines, robotic lighting, and digital backdrops), the production takes the viewer on a sentimental journey of Jewish history and culture.

Why do we do all this? Because the Lord is restoring Israel unto Himself!

Jonathan Bernis will share his personal story of spiritual discovery:  that Yeshua is indeed the Messiah of the Jewish People, and that they can have a personal relationship with God. It’s about the abundant and eternal life promises that Yeshua talked about!

In the meantime, the Festival participant team will be working hard immediately after their arrival tomorrow. The street outreach teams will begin handing out around 200,000 fliers on the streets of Montevideo, Uruguay. The prayer team will begin 24 hours of prayer in our prayer room.

I can’t wait for the lights to dim on Wednesday night and for the Festival to begin!

The Lord is about to do something powerful here in Montevideo. The air is electric with anticipation. It’s as though Heaven itself is watching with excitement.

Please continue to pray for the last-minute details:

  • Pray for the safe arrival of all the team members.
  • Pray that spiritually blind eyes might be opened.
  • Pray that the churches in this country will grow even more passionate about Jewish evangelism and discipleship.
  • Pray for Jonathan Bernis as he leads us.
  • Pray for a supernatural love and unity to overwhelm the team here.
  • And pray for a great harvest of Jewish souls!
